Preconception Stage, Fertility and Infertility: Find the Key to Successful Pregnancy!

The Preconception Stage

In Traditional Chinese Medicine the health of the egg and the sperm at the time of conception translates into the constitutional health of the baby. Therefore, the healthier you and your partner are in the preconception stage, the better.

The preconception stage refers to the time leading up to when a couple manages to conceive a child. This may affect many aspects of future pregnancy and baby.

During this time, a couple may choose to undergo various tests and procedures to determine whether they might have any contraindications or problems with conception.

Preconception Tests and Procedures

The tests and procedures performed in the preconception stage can provide valuable information about the health of the future baby. This information can be used to help a couple make informed decisions about whether to proceed with conception or not.

It can also be used to help a couple make adjustments in their treatment plans in order to avoid potential complications during pregnancy. It is also useful to determine whether a baby can be born with a birth defect or a serious illness.

In case of issues with possible conception, a couple may want to look for fertility supplements during preconception stage in order to improve their chances of successful pregnancy.

The most common tests performed in the preconception stage are semen analysis, ovulation prediction tests, and pregnancy tests. Each of these tests provides valuable information about the health of the sperm and the ovaries, which can be used to help improve the chances of conception.

Preconception Tips

Below are some good Preconception Tips:

  • Increase the circulation to your uterus (massage from inner thighs to lower uterus, castor oil packs on lower abdomen, pressure points over uterine area).
  • If lubricant is needed use egg white.  Don’t use commercial lubricants as they are not sperm friendly.
  • Both partners should quit smoking.
  • Both partners should significantly decrease or stop drinking alcohol.
  • Both partners should significantly decrease or stop eating white sugar.
  • Both partners should significantly decrease or stop drinking caffeine.
  • Both partners should increase intake of whole foods (preferably organic).
  • Don’t over-exercise.  In doing so, the body then needs to use extra energy to repair tissue, settle inflammation, etc.  This energy is better saved for trying to conceive.
  • Both partners should move themselves closer to their ideal weight.  Lose weight if you are overweight and gain weight if you are underweight.
  • Learn how to breathe deeply throughout the whole day.  Deep breathing delivers much needed oxygen and bloods to our whole body.  Create this habit for yourself.
  • Begin taking a complete pre-natal vitamin and mineral supplement.
  • Take time to nurture yourself as needed.
  • Take time to nurture your relationship as needed.
  • Try and find some humor in your fertility journey.
  • Commit to being the healthiest you can possible be.

If You Develop Infertility Issues…

What a roller coaster, this diagnosis called “infertility.” Accompanying this diagnosis there are numerous infertility treatments to consider. Resolving infertility can seem to be multi-faceted; amid this, I invite you to increase your fertility awareness by knowing the difference between “fertility” and “infertility.”

The Problem of Infertility

Male factor infertility, female infertility, and unexplained infertility all have one thing in common: a focus on infertility. Obviously, if you are not pregnant yet, then infertility is what is true for you. I would like to propose though, that it is vitally important for you to shift your focus to “fertility” in trying to conceive.

Just this simple shift in focus puts you on a different journey: one that puts you in line with information, doctors, herbs, fertility specialists or practitioners, and other fertility options, that will direct you to a successful outcome of pregnancy and healthy birth!!!

Focus on Fertility!

When your focus is on “infertility,” it is too easy to find yourself lining up with that which is incompatible with fertility or unsuccessful. No doubt about it, fertility issues are real. I am by no means attempting to make light of that. My objective is to have you recognize that the difference between getting pregnant or not, amidst all the other efforts you are making for your fertility success, might be being overlooked.

This is an absolutely crucial distinction to consider; one that I recommend you not take lightly. It is also the biggest secret that you are least likely to hear from your primary care provider or conception specialist.

Preconception Stage: The Key to Successful Pregnancy!

The first step in increasing your fertility is figuring out why you aren’t achieving conception as quickly as you’d like. This can be a difficult question to ask yourself, as there are many factors that may be affecting your ability to conceive. One of the first things that should be looked at is your diet. The preconception stage is the key to successful pregnancy!
